A beautiful vintage Indian devotional print titled “ARGHA PROTHAN”, depicting a graceful traditional worship scene inside an elaborately decorated temple interior.

The artwork shows a beautifully dressed woman standing before a shrine and presenting a sacred offering or garland to a four-armed form of Lord Vishnu, portrayed with traditional divine attributes including the chakra and shankha. A tall ceremonial lamp, incense, flowers and ritual offerings surrounding the shrine beautifully capture the atmosphere of traditional Hindu worship.

The composition is particularly attractive for its rich architectural detailing, chequered floor, carved temple pillars, deep red drapery and soft period colours. The woman’s pink sari with gold border and the illuminated deity create a striking focal point, giving the artwork an elegant devotional character.

The original printed title “ARGHA PROTHAN” remains visible beneath the image, accompanied by titles in Indian scripts. A visible “D. Banerji” artist/print mark appears in the lower-left portion of the artwork, adding further period and collector interest.

Preserved in an old dark wooden frame, the piece retains its naturally aged presentation and would make a distinctive addition to a collection of vintage Indian religious prints and heritage décor.

Key Features: Vintage Indian devotional print; original title “Argha Prothan”; traditional Lord Vishnu worship scene; four-armed deity with chakra and shankha; female devotee making a ceremonial offering; D. Banerji mark visible; richly detailed temple interior; old dark wooden frame; beautiful period colours and devotional character.

Brass is actually an alloy, not a pure metal. It’s a combination of copper and zinc, and the proportions of these metals determine the colour and properties of the brass. Known for its durability and resistance to corrosion, brass has been used for centuries in everything from musical instruments to household items. Using brass utensils can impart a subtle metallic taste to food, enhancing its flavour profile.
