A rare vintage Indian mythological print titled “RAMA & SUGRIVA’S SACRED VOW”, illustrating an important episode from the Ramayana in which Lord Rama and Sugriva form their sacred alliance.
The composition depicts Lord Rama and Lakshmana with Sugriva, while Hanuman stands nearby carrying his gada. A sacred fire burns between the figures, symbolising the solemn vow and friendship established between Rama and Sugriva. The combination of the Ramayana subject, R. No. 25, Lahore publisher imprint and M. L. Chopra signature makes this a highly interesting survivor for collectors of early Indian mythological prints and historic Lahore printing.
Brass is actually an alloy, not a pure metal. It’s a combination of copper and zinc, and the proportions of these metals determine the colour and properties of the brass. Known for its durability and resistance to corrosion, brass has been used for centuries in everything from musical instruments to household items. Using brass utensils can impart a subtle metallic taste to food, enhancing its flavour profile.
