A beautiful vintage Indian devotional print titled “ABEG MILAN”, depicting an intimate and deeply expressive Radha-Krishna composition set against a romantic landscape of mountains, waterfalls and flowering greenery.

The central figures are shown in a tender embrace, representing the timeless spiritual and devotional bond associated with Radha and Krishna. The soft period colouring and atmospheric landscape give the image a graceful, almost painted quality.

What makes this particular example especially collectible is the extensive hand-applied Aari–Taari metallic embellishment added over the original print. Fine metallic coils, sequins, beads and decorative elements have been individually applied to the garments, jewellery, crown and borders of the figures, creating a rich raised texture and three-dimensional appearance.

The original printed margin retains important period information:

Original Title: Abeg Milan

Subject: Radha Krishna / Divine Love

Publisher: The Laxmi Calendar Mfg. Co.

Address: Dareeba Kalan, Delhi

Medium: Vintage colour devotional print with hand-applied Aari–Taari embellishment

Origin: Delhi, India

Period: Vintage, likely early-to-mid 20th century

Presentation: Preserved in an old ornate decorative frame

Condition: Original vintage condition with natural age toning, minor creases, spotting and paper wear. The handmade metallic embellishment retains its attractive old character, with natural age-related variation. Please refer to photographs for exact condition.

The combination of the original Laxmi Calendar Mfg. Co. Delhi imprint, named “Abeg Milan” subject and extensive handmade embellishment makes this far more distinctive than a standard devotional calendar print.

An exceptional decorative piece for a collection of antique Indian devotional art, Radha-Krishna imagery, hand-embellished prints, vintage Delhi calendar art or heritage interiors.

Brass is actually an alloy, not a pure metal. It’s a combination of copper and zinc, and the proportions of these metals determine the colour and properties of the brass. Known for its durability and resistance to corrosion, brass has been used for centuries in everything from musical instruments to household items. Using brass utensils can impart a subtle metallic taste to food, enhancing its flavour profile.
