A rare and evocative vintage Bengali mythological print titled “BEJOYA” (বিজয়া), depicting a traditional sacred narrative associated with Lord Shiva, the divine family and the ceremonial sentiment of Bijoya/Vijaya.
The composition shows Lord Shiva in an idyllic landscape, carrying a child figure, while richly dressed female figures stand beneath an ornate architectural archway. The mountains, water, animals, foliage and finely rendered palace details give the scene the character of early Bengal popular religious art.
What makes this example particularly collectible is the survival of its original publisher and printer information along the lower margin.
Original printed details visible on the artwork include:

Brass is actually an alloy, not a pure metal. It’s a combination of copper and zinc, and the proportions of these metals determine the colour and properties of the brass. Known for its durability and resistance to corrosion, brass has been used for centuries in everything from musical instruments to household items. Using brass utensils can impart a subtle metallic taste to food, enhancing its flavour profile.
