A beautiful vintage Indian mythological print titled “Ahalya Redeemed”, depicting the celebrated episode of Ahalya Uddhar from the Ramayana.

The composition shows Lord Rama and Lakshmana accompanied by Sage Vishwamitra, with Ahalya seated reverentially before them with folded hands. Lord Rama is shown extending his hand toward Ahalya, capturing the moment of her redemption and restoration. The forest setting, traditional garments, bows and devotional expressions give the composition a strong classical and spiritual character.

The lower margin retains the original printed title “Ahalya Redeemed”, along with the Hindi title “अहल्योद्धार” and the printed number 11, adding further period interest to the piece.

The artwork is presented in an ornate gold-tone vintage frame, which beautifully complements the muted reds, greens, golds and earthy tones of the old print. Its aged paper, traditional religious subject and decorative presentation make it especially attractive for collectors of early Indian devotional and mythological imagery.

Key Features: Vintage Ramayana mythological print; “Ahalya Redeemed” / Ahalya Uddhar subject; depiction of Lord Rama, Lakshmana, Sage Vishwamitra and Ahalya; original English and Hindi printed titles; printed plate/page number 11; detailed forest composition; ornate gold-tone vintage frame; authentic aged appearance.

Condition: Vintage condition with visible age-related toning, stains, moisture marks, minor creasing and general wear to the paper, especially around the upper and side margins. Brass is actually an alloy, not a pure metal. It’s a combination of copper and zinc, and the proportions of these metals determine the colour and properties of the brass. Known for its durability and resistance to corrosion, brass has been used for centuries in everything from musical instruments to household items. Using brass utensils can impart a subtle metallic taste to food, enhancing its flavour profile.
