A striking vintage Indian devotional print depicting the celebrated episode of Kalia Mardan, in which young Lord Krishna triumphantly dances upon the many-headed serpent Kaliya.
The artwork presents Krishna with a radiant halo and traditional ornaments, standing gracefully over the serpent amid the waters of the Yamuna. The dramatic dark landscape, turbulent water and luminous figure of Krishna create a powerful composition associated with divine courage and the victory of good over evil.
An especially desirable feature of this example is the survival of its original printed title and publishing information along the lower margin. The print is marked “KALIA MARDAN” and carries the publisher details of Jaidial Mal Ram Gopal, Chandni Chowk, Delhi. It also records The Calcutta Photo Engraving Co., 20 Cornwallis Street, Calcutta, with printing credited to The Halftone Press, 50-1-A Pataldanga Street, Calcutta.
The naturally aged paper, old printing texture and period frame give the artwork an authentic heritage appearance suitable for a serious Indian devotional art collection.

Brass is actually an alloy, not a pure metal. It’s a combination of copper and zinc, and the proportions of these metals determine the colour and properties of the brass. Known for its durability and resistance to corrosion, brass has been used for centuries in everything from musical instruments to household items. Using brass utensils can impart a subtle metallic taste to food, enhancing its flavour profile.
