A powerful and highly collectible vintage Indian devotional print titled “SREE KALIMATA”, depicting Goddess Kali in her fierce divine form standing upon Lord Shiva.
The composition presents Kali with dark blue-grey complexion, flowing hair, multiple arms and a radiant halo, wearing her traditional garland of heads. Lord Shiva lies beneath her feet, while the surrounding battlefield imagery creates a dramatic representation of Shakti, divine power and the triumph over destructive forces.
The artwork is particularly striking for its atmospheric landscape, expressive figures and strong contrast between Kali’s illuminated form and the darker background.
Most importantly, the original lower margin retains identifiable period publishing information:

These surviving publisher and printer imprints give the piece a particularly interesting historical identity and make it much more desirable than an anonymous later devotional reproduction.

Collector’s Highlight
The strongest collector feature is the unusual combination of the Sukkur, Sind publisher imprint with printing by Lakshmibilas Press Ltd., Calcutta.
The image also appears to carry an artist signature in the lower-right corner, although I would not put the artist’s full name in the website title until the signature is positively identified.
Brass is actually an alloy, not a pure metal. It’s a combination of copper and zinc, and the proportions of these metals determine the colour and properties of the brass. Known for its durability and resistance to corrosion, brass has been used for centuries in everything from musical instruments to household items. Using brass utensils can impart a subtle metallic taste to food, enhancing its flavour profile.
